Our Injection Molding Processe

See how we process your orders, from quotation to tooling, as our machines and efficient team ensure you receive your molds and parts within the scheduled lead time. 

1. Request for Quote

Simply upload your designs when you request a quote, along with material, finishing, quantity requirements. We will give you a response within 8 hours.

2. DFM Report

We'll perform DFM analysis by taking the parting lines, gating, draft, wall thickness and undercuts into account. If you agree with the analysis, we can get started on the tooling right away.

3. Mold Making

We start making the mold after we get your mold design approval. We supervise and report on every step of tooling, like CNC machining, EDM, assembly and polishing on mold.

4. Ship Samples

We make tooling test samples, and send the samples with parts dimensional reports to you. During the process, we have closely communication with you to discuss further mold modifications.

5. Low or High Volume Production

After get approval of the samples, we move to the production stage. We have strict quality control on production, ensure that the parts meet the required specifications and are of high quality.

6. Packaging & Delivery

After a careful and thorough inspection, we will deliver the products to you as quickly as possible. We have specialized packing staff to ensure that the products are not damaged in transit.

Plastic Injection Molding

Plastic injection molding is a manufacturing process that involves an injection of molten plastic material into the mold cavity to create final parts. During the injection molding process, the plastic material is heated and injected into the mold cavity under high pressure. After cooling and solidification, the finished part is ejected from the mold core. Injection molding provides high accuracy and repeatability at a lower part unit cost for low and high-volume production of plastic parts.

Insert molding is a specialized injection molding process that integrates preformed components, such as metal or plastic parts, into a single molded product. The insert molding process begins with placing the insert, which can include threaded inserts, electrical components, or metal reinforcements, into the injection mold. Molten plastic is then injected around the insert, encapsulating it and creating a unified, multi-material component. This allows for the creation of a plastic part with the insert solidly embedded into it.

Overmolding

Overmolding in injection molding is a process that combines multiple materials together to form one single part. Typically, the first material (the substrate) is covered partially or fully by a second material (the overmold). We normally use this process to overmold hard plastic with a rubber material, for grips or seals function and aesthetics purpose. It can create a seamlessly integrated product without assembly and secondary operations.

Parts Injection Molding Tolerances

Qualigie delivers plastic injection molded parts of varying sizes and complexities. Tolerance is very important, and if not correctly specified and controlled, assembling will fail. Qualigie offers tight tolerance options in accordance with ISO 2768 standards, up to ± 0.05 mm depending on the precision of the mould and size of the parts. We pay attention to the locations where tighter tolerance required. Every tooling sample and production part shipment comes with a dimensional report. Injection Molding Materials

Injection Molding Finishes

The most convenient way to apply surface finishing to molded parts is to perform the necessary surface treatment to the metal mold. The most common finishing we give the mold include glossy, semi-glossy, matte and various textured. We can offer any type of SPI surface finish, such as A-1, D-2 or D-3. Additionally, we have options of secondary surface treatment to the molded parts.
